UPCOMING - Venom: Fallen Angels (2011)

Artist: Venom
Album: Fallen Angels
Release Date: August/September 2011
Genre: Thrash metal/Speed metal

THOUGHTS
Venom's 13th studio album "Fallen Angels" is going to be released this or the next month. Honestly I'm very hyped to hear what they will sound like after 30 years since the first album "Welcome To Hell". Judging by the genre listing it won't be black at all which is kinda disappointing. But I think this is going to be their best release in the 21st century.

REVIEW - Destruction: Day of Reckoning (2011)

Artist: Destruction
Album: Day of Reckoning
Year: 2011
Genre: Thrash Metal
Length: 46:45

THOUGHTS
"Day of Reckoning" is the 11th studio album by German thrash band Destruction. I was expecting a decent album and I got it. Although it was released around 5 months ago (in Europe) I only got to listen to it now. Something new is the drummer (Vaaver). I liked the drums a lot, but he isn't much better than Mike Reign or Olly. Highlights of the album we're "Devil's Advocate" (fast and Destruction like) and "Day of Reckoning". Judging by the reviews the best song was supposed to be "Hate Is My Fuel" but to be honest, it was my least favourite one. Starts off great, but goes downhill all the way to the end. A great surprise was the Dio cover "Stand Up And Shout" on the Limited Edition release. I'm a huge Ronnie James Dio fan and I have to say that was a great cover for a great musician. All in all the album was great, enjoyed it and it's definitely on the Top Destruction Albums list.

UPCOMING - Evile: Five Serpent's Teeth (2011)

Artist: Evile
Album: Five Serpent's Teeth
Release Date: September 26th, 2011
Genre: Thrash Metal

THOUGHTS
I just discovered Evile a couple of months ago, while searching for new or "modern" thrash metal bands. As soon as I heard their song "Thrasher" I knew it was going to be something special. Every single song pleased me, the vocals are awesome and they're more thrash than most "modern" thrash bands are. Anyway, they announced their new album "Five Serpent's Teeth" 2 months ago and is about to release on September 26th this year. This will be their first album without Mike Alexander (bass) and it was produced by Russ Russell (Napalm Death). Pre-ordered it on iTunes, and to be honest I think this is going to be their best release so far.

REVIEW - HammerFall: Infected (2011)

Artist: HammerFall
Album: Infected
Year: 2011
Genre: Power Metal/Heavy Metal
Length: 51:18 min

THOUGHTS
I gave this album a very close listen before reviewing it, because of all the negative reviews it's getting (even from HammerFall fans). I have to say, it isn't even that bad. Now I won't say it's great but I would give it a good. A thing I noticed is the solos in some of the songs, for example "One More Time" and "Dia De Los Muertos". Fast and powerful solos that have become some sort of a signature for the band. The weak songs are definitely "I Refuse" and one of the most boring/annoying songs I've heard in a long time "Let's Get It On".  Overall the album is decent, but it could use some more speed and power. Best songs are "One More Time" and "The Outlaw".
